The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a warning that Americans should avoid eating romaine lettuce entirely after the salad green was tied to a multi-state outbreak of E. coli.
We have contacted all our PTO lunch vendors to request that no romaine be included in PTO lunch items until the FDA concludes its investigation and releases further guidelines.
Specifically, Marc’s Deli will replace the romaine lettuce with iceberg lettuce in its popular Salad with Grilled Chicken until romaine is considered safe for consumption again.
